Biogas Processing

CENTROTEC acquires majority interest in Dreyer & Bosse Kraftwerke GmbH, strengthening its position in the pioneering CHP and biogas market

The Wolf Group, Mainburg, a fully-owned subsidiary of the SDAX-listed company CENTROTEC Sustainable AG, is acquiring 80 % of the shares of Dreyer & Bosse Kraftwerke GmbH, Gorleben, with effect from August 31, 2011. The latter company, founded in 1997, has a full product range for biogas processing in the shape of biogas treatment plants and combined heat and power (CHP) units. In recent years it has achieved organic growth in excess of 20 % annually, and has been branching out internationally alongside its core market Germany. In 2010 the company, which has around 80 employees, generated approx. EUR 22 million in revenue. CENTROTEC plans to continue the growth path of Dreyer & Bosse also in the future, in particular by strengthening its international business over CENTROTEC's subsidiaries as well as the international sales network.

Dreyer & Bosse’s biogas CHPs are in the electrical performance range of up to 1 MW and are built to order, usually as integrated systems with upstream biogas purification of container-type construction. It also supplies biogas treatment systems for feeding biomethane into the natural gas grid. This means the range of products and services available from Dreyer & Bosse perfectly complements the existing CHP range of the Wolf subsidiary Kuntschar & Schlüter, which has specialised in natural-gas and sewage-gas CHPs. The two companies will continue to operate as separate entities under their own brands, in keeping with CENTROTEC’s acquisitions strategy. As well as the anticipated synergies in procurement, technology, service and sales, the takeover of Dreyer & Bosse gives CENTROTEC a significant position and excellent future prospects in the rapidly growing biogas and co-generation market.
